If You’ve Got It, Flaunt It

Got a story to tell? A song to belt? A guitar begging to strummed? Then the St. Louis Writers Guild might have your answer, because on the second Tuesday of each month, storytellers, poets and musicians from around the area are invited to come together and show off their stuff.

Although open-mic nights are plentiful in the city, Robin Theiss, the guild’s vice president, said that before starting their own, guild members were hard pressed to locate such an outlet in the county. And in response, members came up with the idea for these monthly gatherings at Kirkwood’s charming Sunset 44.

This week, the atmosphere should be particularly festive, as folks are invited to center their readings and songs around a holiday theme … though, with so many creative minds in one place, the artistic outcome can never be predicted.
