Not Your Father’s Library

If your concept of library activities conjures up prim ladies repairing ancient copies of Ethan Frome, you may want to get yourself down to the Central Branch of the St. Louis Public Library this evening.

St. Louis’s original Cajun musicians, the Zydeco Crawdaddys, will perform a one-hour concert tonight as part of the library’s Not So Quiet! series. Combining traditional instruments and contemporary lyrics, the Crawdaddys will have you hankering for some gumbo and jambalaya in no time flat, cher’. Mardi Gras may have already come and gone this year, but who says you can’t keep a little Cajun love in your heart?

The librarians promise nary a “shhh” will be heard, and you’re welcome to check out Ethan Frome when the concert ends.
