What's New Pussycat?
Well, he may not be new, but he’s still alive and well and touring the country. Welshman Tom Jones, best known for pop classics such as She’s a Lady and It’s Not Unusual, stops in tomorrow at the Family Arena on his latest American tour. Since first hitting the charts in the early ’60s, Jones has revealed a wide variety of musical influences in his songs, including an unlikely cover of Prince’s Kiss in the late 1980s. Over the years, Jones has cultivated an image of a suave Casanova, bent on unleashing as much sexual tension as one 67-year-old man can muster. Since Jones is a grandfather, we hope he’s got a reliable physician in the wings when he performs his usual shtick of whipping his adoring fans into a panty-throwing frenzy. Consider yourself warned. What: Tom Jones Where: The Family Arena, 2002 Arena Parkway, St. Charles When: Tue., March 11 – 7:30 p.m. Cost: $48 to $87.25 Info: www.familyarena.com, 636.896.4200 or www.metrotix.com, 314.534.1111 |
