Who Can It Be Now?
Ready for a trip down nostalgia lane? Tune your Sony Walkman to Thriller, get out your can of Sebastian Shaper hairspray, pull out your fashionably torn-shouldered sweatshirts and your Izod polos (collar turned up, of course) and get on down to the Fox Theatre. The Wedding Singer, a theatrical production of all things ’80s, has rolled into town with shows starting tonight and running through March 23. While on Broadway, it received numerous accolades, including a Tony Award nomination for Best Musical. You remember the movie it’s based on, right? On film, The Wedding Singer starred Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler as an unlikely couple who found true love amidst David Bowie, Culture Club and Psychedelic Furs music. The stage version is filled with original songs, of course, but the show stays true to the film’s sweet spirit. It’ll be totally awesome, fer shur. What: The Wedding Singer Where: The Fox Theatre, 527 N. Grand Blvd., St. Louis When: Tue., March 11 to Sun., March 23 – various times Cost: $22 to $60 Info: www.fabulousfox.com, www.metrotix.com or 314.534.1111 |
