Fine Young Artists

We’re sure Michelangelo got his start by drawing on the ceiling of his mother’s house. Auguste Rodin’s kitchen table must have been covered in Play-Doh. And Jackson Pollack? Well, that one’s too easy for words.

These may not be exactly accurate histories, but suffice it to say that all great artists have to start somewhere, and this weekend, you’ll get the chance to see the work of some of St. Louis’ finest budding artistic talent.

St. Louis Artists’ Guild is again playing host to its annual Young Artists Showcase, where youth from around the region can show in a juried competition. Artists working in a variety of media have submitted their work, and if you like what you see, you should know that the artists will receive 100 percent of the sale.

Who knows? You may very well be able to have the next Picasso on your dining room wall.
