When Swedish Eyes are Smiling
Top o’ the morning to you! It’s St. Patrick’s Day, and even if your claim of Irish heritage is tenuous at best, we’re sure you’ll celebrate with cases of cheap green beer, the obligatory corned beef and cabbage, and plenty of Irish music, à la The Chieftains. Have at it. Now that you’ve got that out of your system, why don’t you make plans to take in another European music phenomenon, albeit from a slightly more northernly latitude? The LK, an artistic musical duo from Sweden, will give a concert tomorrow at Mad Art. The two gentlemen let colors and shapes serve as inspiration points for their unique compositions, which have been described as a blend between “perplexing and hummable.” They’re fresh off an appearance at the SXSW musical festival in Austin, Texas, and are ready to give St. Louis a breath of fresh musical air.
