Working for the Weekend
There are certain Monday mornings that have us belting out Loverboy’s 1981 hit Working for the Weekend before we even leave the house. And this is one of them. We just can’t wait for Saturday night, when we’ll gather with the city’s most talented artists (including the likes of Charles Houska, Alicia LaChance and Cbabi Bayoc) at Third Degree Glass Factory. There, one-of-a-kind pieces will be fashioned onsite to help benefit South City Open Studio and Gallery for Children. While noshing apps and sipping cocktails, we’ll observe firsthand how works in progress become finished masterpieces – then bid on favorites while moving our hips to the dance mix. Afterwards, we’ll celebrate our new acquisitions at Atomic Cowboy, which is proudly hosting the official art-studded after-hours party. And if we don’t secure as many frame-able works as we’d planned at Wall Ball, more will be available at this later event. Because as Loverboy also once said: Everybody needs a second chance.
