And the Kevin Kline Goes To ...

Native son Kevin Kline is one of America’s premier actors. His versatility has been showcased in film roles and stage presentations for years, yet somehow he’s always found time to be a vocal supporter of the live theater community here in his hometown.

In a dual effort to honor both Kline and the local theater scene, the local Professional Theatre Awards Council is set to present its third annual Kevin Kline Awards, which showcase the best of live theater around the St. Louis area.

Twenty-four different theater companies will vie for awards in 22 categories. Did you see Stages St. Louis’ production of The Full Monty? It garnered the most nominations this year, and you can cheer for it or for any number of other productions around the area.

The awards show is not until Mon., March 31, but you’ll want to get your tickets by Friday. You’ll also need some extra time to shop, because the committee suggests red carpet attire.
