Italian Spices

If you find the flicks at most local theaters a bit bland, then shake some Italian spice into your entertainment schedule during the Italian Film Festival of St. Louis.

This free annual event (which takes place over three consecutive weekends) kicks off tonight with the laugh-filled Ma Che Colpa Abbiamo Noi (What Fault Is It of Ours?), about a group of therapy patients who suddenly find themselves without a doctor. We’re also looking forward to April 18, when Mio Fratello e’ Figlio Unico (My Brother is an Only Child) graces the screen. This treat, which won seven David di Donatello Awards (the equivalent to our Academy Awards), centers on a pair of brothers who are divided by politics yet  – surprise, surprise – bound together by their love for the same woman.

Log on to www.italianfilmfestivalstlouis.com for the festival's complete lineup – all the scheduled films are St. Louis premiers – and then start savoring Italy’s unique cinematic flavors.
