Making Matters Verse
We sure hoped you enjoyed diving into Jazz Appreciation Month at the Greater St. Louis Jazz Festival last week. Unfortunately, there’s not much time for reflection with National Poetry Month also demanding attention before calendars flip to May. That’s why we were pleased to discover the Cherry Pie Press Poem BakeOff Contest, which makes it as easy as, well, pie to plunge right into the verseful action. All you have to do is put together a poem using a series of preselected words, all chosen from chapbooks the press has published. Then, send in your creation for a chance to win copies of the three volumes scheduled for publication this year, not to mention publication of your own poem on the press’ blog.
