A Walk to Remember
If there’s something about April that adds a spring to your step, then put that energy to good use by getting reacquainted with our city’s largest playground: Forest Park. Thanks to Forest Park Forever, an organization that constantly works to improve the beloved green space, it’s as easy as downloading one of three walking tours (the Grand Basin Tour, Pagoda Tour or The Lindell Tour) onto an MP3 player. Not up on the latest technology? No prob. Just stop by the group’s office to borrow a preprogrammed, easy-to-use IPod Shuffle. Either way, you’ll have the chance to get a little exercise while also learning interesting tidbits about park landmarks and history. Volunteer-led tours are also available through the fall, an option which encourages you to share spring cheer alongside your favorite playmates of both the human and canine variety.
