Speak Easy
There are some distinguished guests on their way to St. Louis next fall, and they’re hoping to talk to you. You might not have expected an audience with names such as Alan Alda, former Senate Majority Leader George Mitchell and Paul Rusesabagina (whose life was brought to the screen a few years ago in the film Hotel Rwanda) – but they will all be taking the mic as part of Maryville University’s St. Louis Speakers Series, with ample time for your questions after their prepared remarks. Although the first event is still months away, series subscriptions are now on sale. And, in fact, a series subscription is the only way to go since individual tickets won’t be available. Still not sure whether it’s worth it? Maybe names such as Arianna Huffington, David Brooks, Jane Goodall and David McCullough will change your mind. Because whether it’s politics, history or wildlife conservation you’re interested in, this series has got it all covered. What: St. Louis Speakers Series presented by Maryville University When: Various dates from October 2008 thru April 2009. Subscriptions are now available. Where: Powell Symphony Hall, 718 N. Grand Blvd., St. Louis Cost: Series subscriptions start at $285 for the seven speakers. Info: 314.533.7888 or www.stlouisspeakersseries.org |
