Novel Events

The folks at Left Bank Books will be multitasking like crazy tomorrow night, as the store hosts two big-name authors, one known for edgy satire, the other for chick lit.

The first is Chuck Palahniuk, who originally thrilled his now cult-like fans with Fight Club. He’s gone on since to create uncommon characters ranging from an accidental serial killer to a disfigured fashion model. His current release, Snuff, centers on the world of adult entertainment – specifically the final stunt in one star’s sultry career.

While Palahniuk is at Mad Art, chick-lit extraordinaire Emily Giffin will host a lighter affair at Left Bank. Her past books have explored what happens when your soul mate reneges on his agreement not to have children and how life turns topsy-turvy when the man of your dreams is also your best friend’s fiancé. Giffin’s latest novel, Love the One You’re With, reintroduces a happily married woman with her long-lost love ... and promises to be another ideal poolside page-turner.
