This Sand is Your Sand

We love sand. We love making sand castles and sand angels. We love watching our children covered with sand, collapsing in giggles and playing with their friends. The only problem is: There’s no beach ’round these parts. Or at least that’s what we thought, until we found out about the Sandcastle Beach exhibit at The Magic House.

Through the beginning of August, your sand-lovin’ brood can get its fill of beach-centric fun, from scavenging for seashells to creating castles. (They’re sure to be inspired by the nearby 75-foot sand sculpture!) There’s even bona fide ocean spray and chairs for lounging to complete the experience.

What: Sandcastle Beach
When: Through Aug. 3 during regular museum hours
Where: The Magic House, 516 S. Kirkwood Road, Kirkwood
Cost: Included with regular-priced admission of $7.50 per person
