Wannabes Who Get to Be

Remember simpler times of yesteryear, when all you needed was a boom box and an air guitar to have some fun?

Nowadays, wannabe musicians are a bit more ambitious, teaming up to create real music-making bands that perform everywhere from living rooms to nightclubs. It’s a video-game craze known as Rock Band, and (for those of you not as hip as you once were) here’s how it works: A vocalist delivers the goods in a manner reminiscent of karaoke, while cues on monitors enable other band members to master their instruments by pushing corresponding buttons on a “guitar” or banging the corresponding pads on a “drum set.”

Whether you’re ready to entertain fans or just want to see what all the fuss is about, head to rBar on Wednesday evenings, where the stage is set for some serious rockin’ out during Rock Band Nights.
