St. Louis-based photographer Elaine Blatt will literally go to the ends of the earth for a photo op, having flashed around from Africa to Antarctica. And you can share in the spoils of her adventures by browsing the current exhibit at Bruno David Gallery. From the striking greens, reds and oranges of the northern lights she captured in Iceland to the rock formation she documented in Arizona, you’re invited to live vicariously (and beautifully) through her. As added bonus, recent work by Jill Downen and Wyn Geleynse is also displayed. We’re especially taken by Geleynse’s ironic Kit 1A: Collected Books; Some Assembly Required, which enables one to quickly and easily flaunt all the essential reads on a bookshelf without ever having to crack them open. What: Elaine Blatt: Natural Phenomena; Jill Downen: Hybrida Drawings; and Wyn Geleynse: Kit 1A: Collected Books; Some Assembly Required When: Through July 5, Wed. to Sat. – 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Where: Bruno David Gallery, 3721 Washington Blvd., St. Louis Cost: Free Info: 314.531.3030 or www.brunodavidgallery.com |
