Poster Prowess

Drug Cobra. Bassturd. Quest for Fire.

These band names have some serious attitude, and we were all set to swarm their shows with fists a pumpin’ until we heard the catch: None will be taking the stage anytime soon. They only exist in the minds of the artists who responded to a call seeking promotional posters for fake bands.

Beast Wellington. Janitorturer. Ladyfart. C’mon, you know you wanna see what kind of art these so-should-be bands inspired, and you can get your first look tonight, when UMSL’s Gallery Visio hosts the opening reception for the exhibit called ImPOSTERs.

We dare you not to laugh as you admire the creativity of artists – including Sauce columnist Byron Kerman – who span the globe from St. Louis to Japan, and who had the genius to come up with quirky monikers ranging from The Fish Sticks to Bed-wetter Dreams.
