A Sweet Jamboree
Addicted. We’re addicted to those scones at La Dolce Via. Blackberry-raspberry, strawberry, blueberry or peach. Whatever they’re offering, we’re eating. Then one cruel morning we arrived too late, and the scones had already disappeared. Luckily, there was a silver lining: Free from our usual sugar daze, we were able to focus on a flyer promoting the eatery’s Thursday Night Jamboree – an evening that welcomes one and all to stop by with guitars, banjos, washboards, squeezeboxes and the like for a friendly jam. The idea sounded brilliant, until we realized we don’t play an instrument. “Don’t worry,” we were told. “Join us! Anyone can play the tambourine.” How true. And even if you just want to listen and nibble, food is served from 6 to 10 p.m., with the jamboree continuing until the music ends.
