No Small Affair

Bigger is better ... except when it’s not. Such as the new exhibit currently on display at the Jefferson Barracks Historic Site.

Step inside the Old Ordnance Room, and you’ll find tiny soldiers, planes, ships, trains and tanks, not to mention army Barbie dolls, G.I. Joe figures and other small-in-stature military-related collectables. World War II dioramas depicting everything from the landing at Normandy to Army motor pools are also displayed for your viewing pleasure, some dating back to the ’30s and ’40s. Others are more recent creations, including one of the landing at Omaha Beach put together by a local teenager.

But the best part is the tiny admission – only two bucks to see it all. Small wonders will never cease.
