Eco-Conscious Cutting Boards
Like most eco-conscious cooks, we keep our recycling bins either in or near our kitchen. So we got a little misty at the "full circle-ness" of it all when we discovered a new line of cutting boards made from 100 percent recycled products. The boards, which are part of Recycline's Preserve Kitchen ware line, are made from Paperstone, an "eco-friendly material ... that combines natural resins" with recycled paper. The result is a strong, sturdy cutting surface that's gentle on knives and dishwasher safe. The boards come in two sizes, "bar" board and "prep" board, and two colors, Olive Black and Pesto Green. Right now, they're only available online, but look for them to pop up at Whole Foods Markets in the Midwest in the coming year, along with other new Preserve Kitchen ware items, such as colanders and storage containers made from recycled materials. Sauce pick: Preserve Paperstone Cutting Boards Price: $12.99 to $24.99 Where to get it: www.recycline.com |
