St. James Winery Scores Big
With one platinum, 83 gold, 166 silver and 143 bronze awards, one could say 2007 was an Olympic year for Missouri’s St. James Winery. Of those unprecedented 393 awards, the winery’s Norton took 22 medals, Vintner’s Select Vignole claimed 20 and Riesling won 19 medals. The winery’s trademark Velvet Red and Velvet White took a total of 35 medals. The platinum award was granted by the Critics Challenge Wine Competition for the 2005 Chardonel Port. Big deal, you say? St. James Winery is ranked fourth in gold medals awarded for the year in competitions by American Gold Medal Wines, keeping company with other prestigious wineries such as V. Sattui Winery, Navarro and Kendall-Jackson. Not only has St. James Winery surpassed all other wineries in the 12-state Midwest Region in terms of case volume, it’s one of the top 10 most-awarded wineries in the United States. Now those are numbers that really add up. Sauce pick: The wines of St. James Winery Price: Prices vary Where to get it: All major wine outlets Info: www.StJamesWinery.com |
