Ready to Roll

Our money’s on just as much drinking as eating at this weekend’s Taste of Soulard. (It’s sponsored by Southern Comfort, after all.) We’re also guessing that a lot of that consumption will include deceptively sweet Hurricanes to truly laissez les bon temps rouler.

The Taste will feature dishes and drinks – and yes, Hurricanes – from nearly 30 Soulard establishments. Ticket booklets are $20, and the festivities start at 11 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday. But feel free to get a head start with this festively green version:

SoCo & Lime Hurricane

Sugar
3 oz. Southern Comfort
1½ oz. sweet and sour mix
½ oz. blue curaçao
½ oz. sweetened lime juice
Lime wedge and cherry for garnish

• Rim a hurricane glass with the sugar and fill it with ice. Add all the ingredients, stir and garnish with the lime wedge and cherry.

Sauce pick: Southern Comfort Taste of Soulard, Sat. and Sun., Jan. 26 and 27 – 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Where to get it: All around the Soulard neighborhood
Info: Click on www.mardigrasinc.com for a list of participating restaurants
