Aloha, Coffee Liqueur

We swear we didn’t hack into the Kitchen Conservatory Web site to schedule our dream class – Kahlúa Luau was actually the idea of instructor Ruth Sparrow. (She’s the one who comes up with the fun names for the cooking school’s classes, by the way.)

Sparrow will start by teaching you how to make your own coffee liqueur. It takes a little time, though, so she’ll bring some ready-to-party Kahlúa to use in chicken over rice, sweet potato balls and crème caramel. And of course, there will be cocktails: Kahlúa chocolate martinis.

Couldn’t you use a little luau right about now?

Sauce pick: Kahlúa Luau, Mon., Feb. 11 –  6:30 to 9 p.m., $50
Where to get it: Kitchen Conservatory, 8021 Clayton Road, Clayton
Info: 314.862.2665 or www.kitchenconservatory.com
