Pucker Up Baby

That sex burns calories is old news; what weight-conscious lover hasn’t suggested a quick romp on the pretense of increasing aerobic capacity? But what about a kiss? Not one of those wildly passionate kisses, like Lancaster and Kerr in From Here to Eternity, or Ledger and Gyllenhaal in Brokeback Mountain. We mean a Hershey’s Kiss. Do you have any idea of the power contained in those cheap little drops of milk chocolate?  We mere candy-lovers know that one Kiss has 26 calories. No biggie, until you get yourself a bomb calorimeter that measures the release of energy produced by food. Scientists who study such stuff calculated that the calories from that puny-looking Kiss provide enough energy to lift an 8,600-pound SUV six feet high.

Now that’s one mighty kiss.

Sauce pick: A mighty Kiss
Where to get it: Just about anywhere
