Lovely Ovens
Ovens are like junk closets. Every time we clean one, we swear we’ll never let it get that gross again. Well, someone must have heard us, um, swearing, on that last go-around, because a few months ago, a kind family member sent us the Chef’s Planet Non-Stick Oven Liner, an inexpensive, roll-out mat that protects your oven floor from sticky food and liquid spills. Both the Chef’s Planet liner and a similar liner from Wilton are made to fit standard, 30-inch-wide ovens. But if your oven is smaller, simply trim to fit with a pair of scissors. (There’s also a special mini version made just for toaster ovens.) To clean the liner, simply remove and rinse. Of course, before you put it in, you might want to scrape away that mound of blackened, petrified pizza cheese from two years ago. Just a suggestion. Sauce pick: Nonstick oven liners Cost: $7.50 to $25 Where to get it: Independent and chain cookware stores and online retailers |
