Zen and Sushi

Trevor Corson’s first book, The Secret Life of Lobsters, was fascinating read about the bizarre sex life of the odd and tasty crustacean. His new book, The Zen of Fish, is no less engrossing as tells the story of sushi, from its surprising origins in days of the samurai to its present day availability at the corner supermarket. He drives the story by taking us behind the scenes, shadowing a master Japanese chef and several American sushi novices as they learn the art of cooking without cooking.

The acclaimed food writer will speak this Sunday at Kitchen Conservatory. Afterwards, we’re sure you’ll trundle up to the nearest sushi bar and say to the chef, "omakase" – I am in your hands, so just feed me.
