Not that we’re not having a mighty fine April, but we wanted to make sure you marked your calendar now for next month’s St. Louis Brewers Heritage Festival. It was an incredible event last year (15,000 people!), and we’ve got a good feeling it’s going to be even bigger and badder this time. A few highlights: • A VIP event on May 8 will feature a five-course beer dinner hosted by Dave Lieberman of the Food Network and St. Louis’ own brewmasters. Cost is $100. • The general sessions on May 9 and 10 will boast more than 60 styles of beer for sampling. (That’s right, 60 beers!) In the mix will be the official festival brew, St. Louis Dark Lager, and a rye American pale ale from August Altenbaumer, a member of the St. Louis Brews homebrewing club. Tickets are $30 in advance and include a commemorative beer glass. The festival also will include brewing demonstrations; live music; and food from Companion, Harvest, LoRusso’s Cucina, Sqwires and Vin de Set. Last year’s event sold out, so we’d suggest getting on those tickets. And then try to remain calm for the next 27 days. Sauce pick: St. Louis Brewers Heritage Festival, May 8 to 10 Where to get it: Forest Park, just east of the Missouri History Museum Info: 888.792.2424 or www.stlbrewfest.com Editor's note: In yesterday's Daily Sauce, the incorrect day was listed for The Paso Robles Grand Tasting Tour. It will be held at the Ritz-Carlton on Tue., April 15. |
