Gardens Galore
We gardeners are so predictable. Like addicts, we get shaky with the anticipation of tilling soil and getting dirt under our nails the minute the weather turns warm. Which is why you’ll find us stocking up on herbs any place we can. Last week it was the big Herb Days event at MOBOT. This Saturday, head to the Webster Groves Herb Society’s 37th annual herb sale, where you can choose from over 10,000 culinary, medicinal and ornamental herbs as well as huge selection of heirloom tomatoes. There will also be free recipes, garden and herb books to buy, with all proceeds benefiting the society. Feel a little squeamish about planting things only to watch then wither and die? Not sure what to do with all those herbs once you bought them? Not to worry, there will be experts demonstrating everything you need to know about growing your garden right. Sauce pick: Webster Groves Herb Society’s 37th annual herb sale Price: Admission is free. Herbs vary in cost. Where to get it: Sat., April 26 – 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. First Congregational Church of Webster Groves 10 West Lockwood Ave., Webster Groves Info: 314.739.9925 or www.wgherbs.org |
