Wine Time at Grapevine

Kirkwood’s favorite wine shop just keeps getting better, and the trend continues with two big upcoming events:

Tomorrow evening, May 9, Grapevine Wines hosts an open house wine tasting. Knowing full well that tasting is the key to learning about wine, owners Bob, Mike and Diana will offer you 15 or more wines for the low price of $10 ($5 refund with purchase of any bottle). You don’t need reservations, so bring a friend. After amassing so much wine knowledge – and resting all weekend – you’ll be ready to come back on Mon., May 12, to meet Australian winemaker Ben Riggs. For $3 (reservations required), you can sample his well-known wares such as Woop Woop, Black Chook, Penny’s Hill and Mr. Riggs. The Grapevine folks describe Riggs as a very pleasant and pragmatic fellow who remains humble and unaffected despite his success. Hmm, seems the same could be said of the little wine shop in Kirkwood.
