Happy Birthday KD Poppa's

It’s always a good thing when a restaurant survives its first year. Especially so if the restaurant is locally owned, like KD Poppa’s. Last year, owner/chef Robert Hodes rehabbed the space in downtown Clayton formerly occupied by the Terra Cotta Grill. Hodes is the former owner of Pumpernickle’s and has a stint as executive chef at the Seven Gables Inn under his belt, so it’s not surprising KD Poppa’s has lasted a year. Everything is made from scratch and it’s just the place to stop in for a cup of slow-simmered soup, a fresh choose-your-own salad and a great sandwich. To celebrate the anniversary, KD Poppa’s now serves a full breakfast throughout the day, including a variety of egg selections and healthy choices like yogurt parfaits and fresh fruit salad. Now that’s way to break in the second year.
