Clean Cut

There are plenty of high-quality stainless steel cheese knives on the market. But the latest innovation leaves the steel behind for … plastic. Yep, you read that right.

It started a few years ago when an Arizona couple introduced The Cheese Knife, a plastic, “stepped blade” knife that cuts cleanly through soft cheeses and a host of other sticky foods, like fudge brownies, butter, hard-boiled eggs – and the ultimate St. Louis sticky food: gooey butter cake.

Now, gadget giant Progressive has unveiled a similar knife.
Both knives feature a ridged or beveled blade that pushes the food away as it’s being cut. So instead of ragged edges and food stuck to the blade, you get a nice, neat slice of whatever it is you’re cutting. We’ll take a piece of that.
