Restaurant Wine Deals

Restaurateurs know that getting St. Louisans out to eat on a Tuesday or Wednesday night is like getting Hillary to say “uncle.” And as food prices rise, many restaurants offer enticing wine deals to get us in the door. Here’s a few we know about.

On Wine Wednesdays at Three Monkeys, take off $10 on every bottle of wine from 6 to 10 p.m. It’s not a great list, but there’s nothing wrong with a cheap bottle of red to accompany one of the pizzas.

Scape offers $20 Tuesdays, when wines priced $30 or less are available for $20 (so, really, think of it as $10 off, because why wouldn’t you get the most expensive?).

Mangia Italiano’s half-price Tuesday is popular because of the restaurant’s modest but focused wine list. A beautiful bottle of 2004 Domaine Thibert Pouilly-Fuisse for $25? Make it two!

Over at LoRusso’s Cucina, Tuesdays are also half-price bottle night, though only for those in the know – you must mention the half-price special when ordering. Given that the restaurant garnered an Award of Excellence from Wine Spectator in 2007 for its extensive wine list, this may be the best deal of all. Like the magnificent 2003 Marchesi Antinori Tignanello super Tuscan that’s just now hitting its stride, half-price: $65.
