Aya Sofia Expanded
From the basic yet sublime hummus to the stuffed eggplant, we can never get enough of Aya Sofia’s delicious Turkish cuisine. Now we have another reason to enjoy the Mediterranean fare: Aya Sofia’s long-awaited patio is now open. When we drove by the other night, the patio looked charming ... and packed with happy diners. That’s just one event owners chef Mehmet Yildiz and designer Alicia Aboussie are celebrating with drink and small plate specials throughout June from 5 to 8 p.m. The big news is that the couple is traveling to Turkey next month to get married, meaning our favorite Turkish spot will be closed from July 1 through July 17. In the meantime, let’s hoist a glass of Malbec and nosh on biber ezme to celebrate. Sauce pick: Lots to celebrate at Aya Sofia Where to get it: 6671 Chippewa, St. Louis Info: Call 314.645.9919 or visit www.ayasofiacuisine.com. |
