This month you can get your fix of international fare without paying those high fuel costs. Each Thursday in July, you can sup on different cuisines from around the world prepared by Butler’s Pantry catering and served amid the bucolic surroundings of the historic Piper Palm House in Tower Grove Park. Tomorrow’s menu is strictly Americana, natch. Themes for subsequent Thursdays are French Independence, Hills of Tuscany, Caribbean Islands and Spanish Tapas. This is a great opportunity to sample executive chef Greg Ziegenfuss’s cooking, especially since he and Ann Marie Lemcke of the Art of Entertaining catering teamed up last April for the Food Network’s national catering competition (winners will be announced later this summer). With the jazz trio Silk Pajamas playing in the background, great food on the plate and beautiful nights ahead, it’s worth sticking around town this summer. And you won’t have to pay extra just to bring along your luggage. Sauce pick: Thursday Night Passport Dinners on the Plaza, 6 to 9 p.m. Price: $28 per person plus tax and tip. Where to get it: The Piper Palm House in Tower Grove Park, St. Louis. Info: For reservations, call 314.575.5658. |
