Tracking Your Bottles with Ease … Anywhere

You say you can’t keep track of the multitude of bottles stored in that fancy wine cellar you just had installed? We should all have such problems, but Eric LeVine knows your pain.

The Seattle wine geek and former Microsoft software developer launched CellarTracker as a way to organize his collection and to help him remember what he tasted. He got tired of using a spreadsheet and developed this Web-based database as a way to include richer information on his wines. Because CellarTracker is Web-based, it’s accessible from anywhere, such as wine stores, restaurants or through your computer, PDA or cell phone. With more than 9,000 users (and growing daily), you can read the tasting notes of other wine lovers and compare them to your own insights.

One of the most valuable features of CellarTracker is the ability to print individual barcode labels for each bottle in your cellar. Using these barcodes, you can easily and accurately record consumed bottles, as well as exercise the ability to update locations and bin with the assistance of a barcode scanner.

And now that you’ve blown a bundle on your cellar and contents, the best thing is that CellarTracker is free!
