Take Me Out to the Ballroom

If you’re looking for some hot moves to heat up winter, then head to St. Peter’s, where Dance Pizazz is open for business.

Or, more specifically, open for fun. The dance salon offers classes to help get you in shape (ballroom bootcamp, baby) along with ones that will have you waltzing, tangoing and swinging in no time … or honing the skills you already have. Then again, if you’re less about lessons and more about parties, they’re planning plenty of those too. David Thompson said he and business partner Nicole McElvain want “you to like us so much, you’ll want to move in,” and assured us that the elegant, spa-like ambiance is worth the drive whether you live three or 30 miles away.

Perhaps best of all, you’ll be working with instructors who are passionate about their jobs: Thompson began teaching dance after 9/11, when he was laid off from his job as a stockbroker in Columbia, Mo., and he hasn’t looked back since.
