January 29th, 2010 edition of The Daily Sauce: Entertainment. Visit Our Entertainment Archive. Thought Chalk Ever wanted to eavesdrop on someone else's innermost thoughts? Then you'll be happy as a clam tonight, when Tim Curtis' exhibit So This is How My Mind Works opens at Craft Alliance in Grand Center. Of course, Curtis' musings aren't as private as most; in fact, they're being displayed en masse on handmade chalkboards that fill the gallery from top to bottom. He explains on his Web site that “each chalkboard and its aphorism were developed by listening to my internal dialogue and influenced no doubt by my traumatic, early childhood experience with school.” Some works are silly (“I have a very high tolerance, but I am not sure what for”) while others are biting (“There are intelligent people located all over the world except in my location”). But all put together, we promise they're quite a sight. What: Opening Reception for Tim Curtis: So This is How My Mind Works When: Fri., Jan. 29 - 6 to 8 p.m. (The exhibit runs through April 18.) Where: Craft Alliance in Grand Center, 501 N. Grand Blvd., St. Louis Cost: Free Info: 314.534.7528 or craftalliance.org |
