Ain't Your Father’s Diner

With the closing of After, bar patrons in The Grove had few options for late-night eats, unless you count Del Taco or White Castle (don’t). That’s until Phil Noe got the bright idea to transform part of his upscale Mia Rosa restaurant into a late-night diner every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night; call it Satellite; and serve way-better-than-average breakfast fare until the wee hours. Count on everything from the basic breakfast to his version of the slinger (though a classic version is available, too), the Instant Heartburn: an omelet topped with chili, jalapeños, salsa, chorizo and cheese. Wash it down with real coffee (Chauvin’s Joe’s Special Blend) and you’re ready for daybreak.

Sauce pick: Late-night noshing in The Grove
Where to get it: Thu. to Sat. – 11:30 p.m. to at least 4 a.m., Satellite, 4505 Manchester Ave., St. Louis
